As a fellow small business owner, I know how important it is to create eye-catching content without stretching your budget. Whether you're showcasing your products online, updating your website, or posting on social media, a great backdrop can make all the difference.
But who says you need to spend a fortune to get professional-looking shots!? I’ve found an easy, budget-friendly hack that lets you create stunning photo backdrops for under $20. Let’s dive into how you can elevate your brand’s visual appeal without breaking the bank!
A2 Water Resistant Poster Print $15.50!
PHOTOGRAPHY BACKDROPS UNDER $20
1. First you'll need to head on over to Officeworks poster printing page.
I used their water resistant poster paper as its nice and thick (135gsm) and prints in a matte finish, which is perfect for photos!
2. From here, you'll need to decide what size you'd prefer. For my purpose, I plan to use these to photograph my Acrylic Name Badges so I opted for an A2 print.
3. Now you know the size, you'll also need to have your design ready to go! For my designs, I used Adobe Illustrator - but I've found Canva to be another great tool for those who are not familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite!
I designed 3 posters for this project:
Please note! When saving your file (whether through Illustrator, Canva or any other software) make sure to save your designs as a PDF as this will ensure your colours and designs are printed at the best possible quality.
4. Now head back over to Officeworks' website
and upload your design/s, select your size and add to cart.
I will say these arrived super quick, with a turnaround of 2-3 days once my order was placed
5. Enjoy your new handy gorgeous Photo Backdrops!
Tip: I keep mine rolled to keep the prints away from any dust when I'm not using them.
What I like about these (especially for the price!) is that they're water and tear resistant which is great for messy or out door shoots.
PROS
- Price is great coming in at $15.50 for an A2 print.
- Matte finish which is perfect for photographs! And overall print quality is great (PDF file is recommended when uploading artwork)
- Great way to test out patterns, colours and designs without breaking the bank on professional backdrops!
- Water and tear resistant
CONS
- Limited sizing (if you're in need of larger prints the max size is A0) so may not be a great approach for projects that require photographs of larger items, portraits, etc.
- Not as thick as I would like - for the price it's great, but I can see these wearing down over time so definitely a temporary fix!
