Your AMDMelbourne badge is more than just a name tag—it’s a little pop of joy and a tool that helps you connect with others in your daily work. Whether you’re a nurse, educator, small business owner or just love a bit of flair, taking care of your badge will help it stay bright, clean, and looking its best for as long as possible!
Here are my top tips for keeping your badge in great condition:
1. Wipe It Down Gently
To clean your badge, use a soft, non-abrasive cloth (microfibre is ideal) and gently wipe away any dust or fingerprints. If needed, you can slightly dampen the cloth with water—but avoid harsh chemicals or cleaning sprays, as these can damage the acrylic or printed designs.
2. Keep It Dry When You Can
While your badge is water-resistant, it's not waterproof. Avoid submerging it in water or exposing it to prolonged moisture. If your badge does get wet, simply pat it dry with a soft cloth.
3. Store It Carefully
When you're not wearing your badge, store it in a clean, dry place where it won’t get scratched. Avoid tossing it into the bottom of a bag with keys, pens, or coins that could cause surface marks. If you’ve ordered multiple badges, consider storing them flat in a soft pouch or container.
4. Treat the Clip or Pin with Care
Whether your badge has a pin, magnet or reel, the attachment is an important part of its wearability. Avoid over-flexing or tugging too hard when putting it on or removing it. This helps prolong the life of the backing and ensures your badge stays securely in place throughout your shift.
5. Be Kind to the Bling
Some of my badges include delicate add-ons like glitter, holographic film, or hand-placed embellishments. Our badges are super durable but sadly not indestructible!
